Dr. Martin Keller
Dr. Keller treats adults, adolescents, children, families and couples in the Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ area. He has provided counseling and psychotherapeutic services to children and parents of high-conflict divorced families for over 30 years.
Practice Focus
He limits his practice to psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults and families. Dr. Keller is an advocate for children’s mental-health issues and he has devoted much of his career to helping parents and professionals “tune in” to the emotional needs of kids.
Dr Keller often works with health care professionals, attorneys and executives on issues of burnout and stress management.
Credentials
Dr. Keller is a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. He completed his undergraduate work at Temple University, his Masters from Columbia University, and his Doctorate from Rutgers University. He is affiliated with Honor Health’s Scottsdale HealthCare Hospital, John C Lincoln Hospital, and Paradise Valley Hospital.
Dr Keller also serves as a consulting clinical psychologist to Arrowhead Lodge– an Addiction and Trauma residential treatment center for men located in Prescott, Arizona.
Leadership
Dr. Keller was the past President of the Scottsdale Psychological Society as well as the past President of the Phoenix Psychoanalytic Study Group. Dr. Keller has served on the faculties of the Department of Clinical Psychology at Midwestern University, the Department of Clinical Psychology at The Arizona School of Professional Psychology, and the Department of Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in psychology. He is a certified school psychologist and holds diplomas from the American Academy of Behavioral Medicine and the International Academy of Professional Counseling and Psychotherapy. Dr. Keller is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and is listed on the Maricopa County Family Court’s mental health provider list.
Childhood Issues
Dr. Keller has presented workshops and seminars on topics including attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, parenting skills, marital communication, childhood depression, children’s grief, burnout, psychological treatment of G.I. disorders in children and parenting children with special needs.
Individuals And Family Counseling
In addition, Dr. Keller works with families around issues of reunification, estrangement and dysfunctional-family dynamics and boundaries. Dr. Keller does not conduct custody evaluations, nor does he serve in the capacity of parenting coordinator. His focus is exclusively on individual and family counseling as well as co-parenting and therapeutic intervention. Dr. Keller specializes in psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, children and couples. Dr. Keller also provides supervision to other mental health professionals. And he has been approved as a clinical supervisor by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
Helping Children And Educators
He frequently attends school staffings with teachers, principals and school psychologists to help create a supportive educational climate for children. Dr. Keller frequently collaborates with parenting coordinators, pediatricians, child psychiatrists, teachers and school psychologists.
Advisory Boards
Dr. Keller serves on a number of local, professional advisory boards and was on the founding board of a private-community high school. He has served on the board of the Alumni Council of Columbia University and the Teachers College in New York City. Dr Keller severs on the Professional Advisory Board of Gesher Disability Resource Center, an agency serving children and adults with special needs.
Dr. Keller provided psychotherapy supervision to psychologists, counselors, social workers, marital therapists and substance abuse counselors and was an Approved Clinical Supervisor for the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. He has also served on the professional advisory board of a spiritually based healing center.
He also serves on the on he Medical Advisory Board of the Southwest Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and adults with digestive diseases.
He served as an Ambassador to the National Register of Health Service Psychologists in 1979.
Insurance
Dr. Keller is a private pay “out of network” psychologist with all insurance companies. Payment is due in full at the time of the appointment. If your insurance company provides out of network benefits, our secretary can mail you a receipt that can be submitted for reimbursement based on your insurance plans benefits.
